Give a Warm Welcome to Returning Marriage Candidates and Townfolk Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town is releasing its fifth and final wave of DLC in the form of the Twilight Isle Expansion Pack, which takes farmers to a new area where they can encounter familiar faces. Old fans of the series will be happy to hear that the Twilight Isle Expansion Pack is bringing back two marriage candidates and two townsfolk from the Nintendo 3DS title Story of Seasons Trio of Towns. This final DLC pack is available either as part of the Expansion Pass on the Nintendo eShop, or as part of the Expansion Pass Set in a bundle that also includes the base Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town game. Whether you’re just now trying the game or you’ve already been enjoying it, you can journey to the seaside locale of Twilight Isle. The two returning marriage candidates are Ludus and Lisette, while the returning townsfolk are Tigre and Moriya. Ludus is considered a jack of all trades in his hometown of Lulukoko, where his varied skills and reliable personality have made him trusted by adults and children alike. Reportedly, he’s a good choice for farmers looking to start a new family. Meanwhile, Lisette owns a flower shop, fitting her sunny personality, and is generally a naive and cheerful person. She doesn’t have much drama in her past, but she’ll appreciate it if you can sweep her off her feet. Tigre and Moriya are not romanceable, but they still bring quite a bit of energy to this new expansion. Tigre is a young who has trouble fitting in at Lulukoko and wishes to be more reliable, while Moriya is the gruff and blunt owner of Tsuyukusa’s wholesale store. Both characters promise to be interesting if you get to know them. This final wave of DLC is bringing a lot to Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town. If you were looking for a reason to get back into Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town, this is it. Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town is now available on Nintendo Switch. I have play harvest moon games since GameCube days have all the releases of harvest moon and rune factory. I tend to put 1000+ hours into harvest moon and rune factory games. With many like others grabbed all the dlc as well before it was released, now I’m regretting it, as it’s worthless. Adds nothing to the game started struggling to force myself to try and finish everything, I am a completionists. But by the 1st year fall, I was already struggling to keep interest and it was already drive me nuts since so much not completed. I finally gave up about 30-60 hours into game, it’s really annoying me so much not completed, but there is really just nothing holding me to game it’s so bad compared to the 3ds harvest moons. It’s really horrible when you can not even remember most of the characters names even after going into year 2. I really have no interest in any of hope this is not the price we pay for natsume and marvelous splits. The natsume line of games are even more horrible than this as trio of towns was really well madeexcept I hated the divided towns, and that had 0 input from natusme as the split already happened. From what some people said reportedly this game was rushed, and honestly after playing it I wouldn't doubt things this does better is animal care as no longer having to swap tools to deal with them, and as VyseInglebard mentioned the skill systemwhich I forgot about. The quests were a good idea, but poorly I'll raise you one for how uninteresting the characters were I can't even remember the name of the one my character married, as the conversations were so poor lolAstralFrost I need to be able to say that PSN alone outsold every aspect of the competition otherwise I don't think I can live with 11 months ago13Rhah01 posted... But I love this game and have put 40+ hours into it. I’m guessing I’m the target audience and this game was meant for newcomers?I've played nearly every Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons game, have sunk ~90 hours into Olive Town, and I have to say that while I'm having fun because I'm able to set my own goals as a completionist, it completely 180's away from what the games previously have done that I really played the series for and that makes it very hard for me to like the game itself. It almost fights me and the goals I have set for myself in a way that makes the grind to complete those goals removed so many festivals especially the animal contest festivals that were fun, the characters seem super two-dimensional, the limited storage/inventory isn't compatible with the star rating system they implemented 10 versions of nearly every item? that's just... a lot... or the heavily limited shipping bin. There's an eternal struggle of 'not enough hours in the day' between farming crops, keeping your farm clean of all the debris that becomes virtually useless in late-game- the list goes on about what they changed that worked well into the antithesis of their previous games. They're breaking what's not broken to pad out the game. I had a similar issue with A New Beginning the last Natsume+Marvelous title and its way too grind-heavy game design with super-flat gameplay outside of what goals the game gives you to you, this game is coming hot off the tail of the remake of literally one of THE most successful Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games Friends of Mineral Town that fixed a lot of the old version's bugs that made things rough. While not my favourite, the fact that FoMT lets you pretty much do whatever you please and doesn't have a story to funnel you down means your goals ARE the gameplay, and it means you're completely free to play the game however you want and it doesn't work against you. Couple that with the fact a lot of these farming sims coming from the giants Natsume, namely are ending up pretty middling in quality, it's not hard to see why Olive Town isn't cutting it for people who previously played older titles during their golden would recommend you play Animal Parade, one of the Wii Harvest Moons, to see why Olive Town doesn't exactly hit the mark. It's VERY similar to Olive Town, but Animal Parade puts more emphasis on freedom of choice while having a story progression and character depth that feels more fulfilling, as well as a more comprehensive postgame and a town that grows with you far better than Olive Town 1650-3377-1398 All Jobs CREATOR Rank in Fantasy LifeI speedrun Skies of Arcadia and Eternal Sonata! I only played Trio of TownsThen this game will be an incredible disappointment in comparison, since ToT is probably the best of the SoS games thus far. Not that the others aren't good, too - this is the only one that's a real letdown - but ToT is still the best of them. Going from ToT to PoOT is like going from a prime Wagyu steak to a cold Burger King cheeseburger that got dropped on the ground. Sure, the latter might not taste totally terrible, I guess, but it doesn't have a chance in hell of comparing to the former - and only one of those experiences is actually worth paying someone to posted... This was my first game from this franchise in either form. I've put in time in this game but it's really not great. The DLC didn't add anything to the game, recently started a new farm in Stardew Valley and just a few hours of playing in I'm having so much more fun with it than I ever did in all the hours I put into highly recommend trying another one of the SoS games, because this really isn't a good indicator of what they're like at all. Trio of Towns is, as stated, the best of them, but they're all enjoyable. The reason PoOT has gotten such backlash is because this really isn't what fans expected or wanted from a new SoS entry - it doesn't just fall short of fan expectations for a new game in the series, it falls short of previous games in the series that came out years earlier. It actually falls short on things that are staples of the franchise, even, where enjoyable aspects normally found in these games have been mangled or completely cut for no good reason, replaced with either absolutely nothing or something much you for coming to my Ted Friend Code 1564-1994-7120 Switch Friend Code 8158-7146-8602Planescaped 11 months ago18irulethegalaxy posted... DLC actually adds pretty much nothing to the game unless you HAAAAAVE to marry one of the specific candidates which just seems weird to me, if you really HAVE to marry Ludus, just play 3oT?. The game overall is a jumble of ideas that don't work together. They've attempted to yoink concepts from everything and everywhere without producing a cohesive whole my favorite is that they co-opted some of the mutation mechanics from the Harvest Moon games without actually letting you get seeds and grow those..... There's almost zero storyline, the goals are simple, the farming is just bad I mean seriously...you don't even have FERTLIZER? WTF. The whole thing is just dumbed down to be baby's first farming sim with zero complexity or depth. For crissakes, there aren't even things you can give the townsfolk that they dislike. Give 'em rocks, they're happy to get them! It's a game made by corporate decision, with about zero soul. Cute art style, but the gameplay is vapid and nailed it. The game really is a pale imitation of both previous installments in the series, and what is already out there. In a world where Trio of Towns and Stardew Valley exist, Pioneers of Olive town is utterly not a bad game... but it is the very definition of mediocre. I bought Stardew Valley a second time on Switch and it was like playing it for the first time all over again. It was great even without I even have been thinking of dusting off the DS and giving Trio of Towns a new playthrough. Olive Town however... I put 10 hours into it and never intend on touching it again. I should see if I can trade it in...The clouds pass... the rain does its work and all individual beings flow into their forms." And Friends of Mineral Town?FoMT remake takes all the great stuff from the old game and refreshes it very nicely with a lot of quality of life and bug/glitch fixes that makes it much less of a grindfest than the old you, it's a totally different sort of playstyle from Olive Town you have to make your own goals there's no storyline to guide you, marriage candidates can marry other marriage candidates, and it doesn't hold your hand- you have to figure things out yourself. If this doesn't bother you, though, it's a more classic experience that gives you the freedom to decide what you want to do for are rewarded for interacting with the townsfolk with recipes, gifts, friendship-level based events, too, which means the town feels more alive and you're given incentive to befriend them. There's more holidays and actual contests though, there are less minigames; all around, it's a more complete feel.
